It was a day to remember for 10 students at Castle Hill School, Newsome – their graduation day!

And local businesses and heroes did the special needs school proud by showing their support.

Huddersfield Town legend, Andy Booth, a regular attender at such events, was there while the event would have been much diminished without the input of Cummins Turbo Technologies, who supplied not only the balloon arch, but a live band and all the food.

SLS Limousines provided a limousine to give them a short trip around the town and florists Forever Green provided the buttonhole flowers.

With 110 pupils and staff to cheer them on it was truly a day to stay in the memory for a very long time.

The 19-year-old students are destined for a variety of destinations as follows: Adam Lewis, Peter Maloney, Mustafa Yousas, Courtney Whitlock, Heena Sheikh and Simon Hawkins are going to Kirklees College, Emma Askew and Haroon Riaz to Waves Daycare Centre in Slaithwaite and Sam O’Dor to Aspire, a residential centre in Barnsley. The future of Jodie Wilson is, as yet, undecided.
