SO chivalry and honesty remain alive and well in Huddersfield – and we prove it today.

Step forward taxi driver Muhammed Naeem who reunited £1,000 left in his cab with its owner.

And it turns out that the haul of other items left in his car include a Playstation, mobile phones, credit cards, coats and bags.

Mr Naeem managed to trace their owners or handed them in to the police station.

But for honesty and a fine example to others, making sure a tourist to this town received the £1,000 back tops the lot.

The relief must have been immense – but the tourist will also leave Huddersfield with a fantastic impression of the town and its honest people.

A simple good deed means such a great deal and indicates that most people are decent, honest citizens.
