THE school looked like the set of the Great British Bake Off for Comic Relief.

Junior and senior pupils at Hipperholme Grammar School raised £730.81 for the charity after being challenged by head of sixth form Kate Wilson to a ‘Bake Off’. Students of all ages brought a mouth-watering array of home baked cakes, cookies and cupcakes, all beautifully iced, butter-creamed and decorated with glitter.

Stalls were set up in the dining room at morning break and representatives from each form group manned tables to sell their wares to fellow pupils and staff.

“Competition was extremely fierce to attract customers and take the most money”, said Mrs Wilson.

The winning team was Year 7 form group 7YS.

Junior pupils wore pyjamas to school and senior pupils wore red.

“Once again, our pupils have shown immense enthusiasm and dedication in supporting children less fortunate than themselves,” said head teacher Mr Jack Williams.
