A BUYER has been found for an industrial complex which has been on the market for more than a year.

Offers in the region of £1.4m were sought for the former Decorative Panels site at Crosland Road, Oakes, when it went on the market in July last year.

Now property agents handling the site have confirmed the sale of the 60,000sq ft factory and offices, which stand in more than two acres of grounds.

Mark Hanson, of Highfields-based Hanson Chartered Surveyors, said he was unable to supply details of the deal at this stage. But he said there was also keen interest in another former Decorative Panels site, Firm Mills at Grove Street, Longwood.

Mr Hanson said: “Generally, demand is very patchy, but it is pleasing that something is moving at Oakes because the site has been on the market for quite some time.”

The 46,000sq ft premises at Longwood, which occupies more than three acres and went on the market at the same time as the Oakes complex, had an asking price of about £1.25m.

Both sites came on the market with Decorative Panels’ move to the former Carrington Wire factory at Lowfields Business Park, Elland.
