THE Colne Valley Museum, which is managed and operated entirely by its volunteer members, will be holding a Make a Difference Event at their Parkin Bake this weekend (from 2 to 5pm).
Without its volunteer members the museum simply wouldn’t exist, so volunteers co-ordinator, Anne Hemingway, is hoping that people who want to make new friends, share their skills or learn new ones and make a difference to their community heritage museum will go along tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) and she will make them very welcome.
During the afternoon any visitors who are interested in volunteering at the museum will be able to have a coffee and chat to museum members about the wide range of volunteering opportunities at the museum and what they themselves can get out of volunteering.
And there might also be some parkin to sample, made in the Victorian kitchen downstairs!
People who are interested but unable to go along tomorrow can contact Anne on 01484 659762 (answer machine) or email email@example.com
The Parkin Bake demonstration, held in the Victorian kitchen, is today and tomorrow 2-5pm – just in time for Plot Neet!
Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children/concessions.
