CLASSROOMS became drive-in movie theatres for pupils at Hipperholme Grammar Junior School.

Each child attending the movie was tasked with designing and building their own car to sit in to watch the film.

Some children made vehicles for single use and others chose to share the manufacturing and movie experience with a friend in the passenger seat.

Funds raised from the Movie Night will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund, the children’s chosen charity.

Fundraising is a part of the Hipperholme Grammar Junior School ethos – the children themselves elect which charities they would like to support and regularly organise fund raising events in and after school.

Headteacher Mrs Reynolds said: “The range and standard of the vehicles was amazing, so much thought and hard work had been put into the design and making of each car.

“The children had a lot of fun while at the same time raising money for a very worthwhile cause.”

Pupils watched Madagascar and Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 as part of the fundraiser.
