CRIME PREVENTION ADVICEHowever tempting it might be don't have gates and fences too high. Burglars love to work unseen. A visible burglar alarm will make burglars think twice. Even small windows may need locks – a thief can get in through any gap larger than a human head. Never leave spare keys in a hiding place like under a doormat or in a plant pot. It is the first place a thief will look. Never leave a garage or shed unlocked, especially if it has a connecting door to the house. Also lock tools and ladders away so that a thief cannot use them to break in.
