A CARING valley club has raised cash to help fund the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The thriving Holme Valley Riding Club holds fund raising social events to raise money for charity and for club funds.

The most recent social get-togethers were A Night at the Races, held at Meltham Sports and Social Club and a Halloween Fancy Dress Extravaganza at Crosland Heath Golf Club.

More than 100 members and their friends supported these events and the club raised a total of £200 for their chosen charity, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The club’s winning senior pairing at the Yorkshire and Humberside Area Show Cross qualifying competition at Spofforth, Harrogate, Clare Hinchliffe and Alex Jackson, presented the bumper cheque to the ambulance.

The Holme Valley club, which has 78 members, was formed in 1968 and is an affiliated member of the British Riding Club movement.
