HOLMFIRTH Arts Festival isn’t just for grown-ups.
Organisers of the highbrow festival, from June 13 to 23, have laid on a variety of fun activities for children.
To amuse the young – and young at heart – there’ll be late-night illuminations, on June 14, an all-age textile workshop at Holmfirth Market Hall, on June 15, and a day of den building, exploring, and natural art at Mearhouse Farm, on June 16.
At The Old Bridge Hotel, on Sunday June 16, Tutti Frutti theatre company will be leading three interactive performances of a Caribbean play about a small boy who isn’t growing any taller.
Between June 19 and 23, Rambling On will be crossing the Holme Valley, with Dolly the cart, delivering impromptu roadside performances.
At Honley Southgate Theatre, on June 21 (6pm) Bunk Puppets will be performing an interplanetary shadow puppet show.
And at Victoria Park, on June 22 (11am-4pm), there will be camera obscura workshops, silly songs, storytelling and old fashioned carnival fun with Uncle Tacko’s Imaginarium and Flea Circus.
Festival Director, Fiona Goh, said: “We are keen for people of all ages to get involved in the festival and we have a range of events from arts workshops to theatre, storytelling and a family fun day in the park.”
