HOLMFIRTH Arts Festival bosses have thrown open their doors to proposals for this year’s event.

The Holme Valley based festival is seeking entries across its programme, which runs for two weeks from June 11– 26.

Submissions wanted include for the art trail, the performance caravan the main stage and the street performances.

The art trail, dubbed Art in the Woods, will take place in a beautiful part of the woods above Holmfirth and organisers are seeking expressions of interest from artists of all types who either have work that would benefit from being sited in the woods, or artists who would like to create new works specifically for this environment.

This event attracts a large general audience, including families and children.

Performers who can work in a small space are invited to put forward ideas for the Festival Caravan, a 1970s model which will be a venue for micro-performances throughout the festival.

Any artists working with water or environmental issues are also invited to get in touch regarding ecological, rural and social ideas.
