Pupils at Holmfirth High School can now earn a mechanic’s qualification at the school’s Motor Vehicle Garage.

Twenty students from years 10 and 11 have been working for their IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) level one certificate in vehicle maintenance and repair since the garage opened in October.

The facility has four vehicle bays, a vehicle lift, tyre and wheel balance equipment and tools required for servicing and fixing vehicles.

The garage was officially opened by Colne Valley MP, Jason McCartney, and Kirklees Mayor, Martyn Bolt, on Monday February 17.
