YOU have to admire the sheer determination of Huddersfield businessman Ghulam Rasool.

After four years and £1.2m of his own money, he hopes to open his own designerwear store in Huddersfield in time to catch the Christmas trade.

The Huddersfield businessman is finally close to realising his dream.

Read his story and you will see that the Lindley-based entrepreneur has built his business on hard work and sheer tenacity.

He came to Huddersfield from Kashmir at 13 and spent the money he earned on paper rounds buying jeans which he sold as a market trader. He hasn’t looked back since.

In this latest venture, Ghulam has used Crosland Hill stone to make sure his new-look building in Westgate does justice to its surroundings and he hopes to create 10 to 15 jobs.

Now all we need to do is wish him well and hope that other entrepreneurs will share in his optimism and see the town as a place in which to do business.
