FOUR hundred children from 36 schools took part in a dance competition in Huddersfield.

Strictly Pennine was held over two nights at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

The event was organised by the Pennine School Sport Partnership.

Danny Hermann, school sport co-ordinator for North Huddersfield Trust School and Salendine Nook High School, was the MC for the first evening.

Lindley Junior School started the show with Shake Rattle and Roll followed by morris dancing from Meltham CE Primary School, Irish dancing from Lindley Infant School and Spring Grove Juniors performing a Haka.

Paul Quinn from Colne Valley High School was MC of the second night which included performances by Holmfirth High, Wooldale Juniors and Linthwaite Clough Head.
