THERE will be many proud parents in Huddersfield today after last night’s Choral Explosion in Huddersfield Town Hall.

It was a brilliant example of our cultural heritage and love of music with 900 youngsters from schools across Kirklees joining Huddersfield Choral Society on stage.

It was a night they will never forget and it will no doubt inspire in some a lifelong love of music.

It was part of the choir’s 175th anniversary and what a wonderful way to celebrate with the voices of the future.

So it’s a big thanks to the schools that took the time and effort to involve their pupils in this rich celebration.

But also let’s take this opportunity to thank parents who week in and week out take their children to music lessons and shoulder the not inconsiderable expense of doing so to make sure Huddersfield remains a world-leader when it comes to making music.
