SO Marks and Spencer are to charge 5p per carrier bag as from May. Well, in that case as from May, unless M&S can provide me with a carrier bag free of all their logos, slogans and corporate livery, I shall be charging M&S 5p per bag “advertising space”.
It’s one thing walking around with arms full of carrier bags emblazoned with their branding like a human advertising board but being charged 5p a throw for the privilege is another matter.
Should M&S refuse my offer then I shall be dispensing my custom elsewhere - among their competitors.
