THERE were times when it wasn’t cool for boys to be interested in dancing.

Male dancers were often on the receiving end of bullies and may have been deterred from following their dancing dream as a result of a few cruel comments.

Teenager James Buckley was one who was on the wrong end of other’s jokes as he learned to be a ballet dancer.

Now he’s having the last laugh because his determination has led him on the path to success and he’s won a series of championships.

And James is still just 13 years old.

The teenager has dedicated countless hours training to his passion and has had guidance from the Strickland Cook Theatre School in Huddersfield town centre.

Thankfully times have moved on and many boys are now taking up all forms of dancing.

Many could learn a thing or two from James about sticking to their guns in order to achieve success.
