HOT snacks are on offer in exchange for a bit of hard graft today (Saturday).

Local conservation group, the River Colne Project, starts work on a new tree nursery project and are hoping enthusiastic volunteers will join in with a bit of planting and digging.

Based in Linthwaite, the River Colne Tree Nursery will be an exciting educational resource for schoolchildren across the district.

Project officer, Mick Smith, said: “We will be planting an orchard, a gorse bank, sowing seeds and building bat boxes. The project team will be there from 10am to 2pm, feel free to pop along, bring warm clothes, sensible shoes and your own tea. We will provide the biscuits and baked potatoes.”

To lend a hand, get yourself down to the tree nursery, Lees Mill Lane, Linthwaite.
