I HAD just sat down to eat my spaghetti Bolognese on Tuesday night when I flicked on the TV to the toe-curling images of Channel 4 show The Ugly Face Of Beauty.

Definitely not a good show for dinner time viewing. It was packed full of gruesome close-ups of women going under the knife.

Dr Chris Jensen follows the stories of women who have stumped up large amounts of money for surgery and cosmetic procedures, only to be disappointed with the final outcome.

I felt really sorry for them, so unhappy and self-conscious about their bodies that they had taken the drastic decision to have unnecessary and potentially life-threatening surgery, only to come out looking even worse than before.

Needless to say it put me right off my spag bol.

Elsewhere in TV land, last night saw the final episode of the sick-inducingly sycophantic Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

There’s no doubt about it, Wossy got some good guests on the show – last night he chatted to David Beckham, pictured right with Jonathan Ross on his last show.

But I found his constant sucking up to the celebs utterly cringe-worthy and half the time it seemed he was too busy cracking jokes and talking about himself to actually ask them any decent questions.
