STAFF at Kaye’s First & Nursery School staged a ‘French Week’ to encourage children to enjoy the language and culture of France.
Dan Roro, a French circus artist, put on a rip roaring show at the Clayton West school.
A French assistant from Scissett Middle School also visited on Tuesday.
The children then visited the market place and went shopping at the patisserie, café, school, library and post office.
Mrs Angie Whitham, higher level teaching assistant was integral to the planning.
She said: “We want children to enjoy the language and have fun with the activities.
“It was a joy to listen to the children as they made their way round the market place, trying so hard to use the French they had learned.”
