POLICE have dealt with a couple of fraud cases in the last few weeks, so here is a reminder about some of the scams...

Calls from ‘Microsoft’ claiming you are using fake software and you need to pay an amount of money to sort it out...SCAM!

Calls from ‘The Office of Fair Trading’ in relation to a miss-sold PPI and asking you to pay 5% of the compensation owed to you upfront by UKASH vouchers... SCAM!

Basically – anybody ringing you and claiming to be from banks, companies or government departments and asking you to pay upfront are... SCAMS!

You don't need to speak to them, so just put the phone down.

If you are suspicious or unhappy about any phone calls you get, give the police a ring on 101 for further advice.
