CAN-CAN dancers on horseback and daring mountain bike stunt riders are among the new attractions at next month’s Mirfield Show.

Les Amis d’Onno, described as the UK’s premier equestrian can-can dance team, will be one of the must-see performers on the day.

They will be joined by freestyle mountain bike stunt team Savage Skills who will thrill and amaze.

Organisers of the show, to be held at the showground in Huddersfield Road on Sunday August 19, aim to offer something new for all the family.

Admission for children will again be free and show chairman Karen Bullivant said: “We know many families are feeling the pinch so we have planned an entertaining summer’s day out where the children can enter absolutely free, take part in free competitions and watch amazing ring entertainment for free.

“We are proud to remain a non-profit making organisation and so we roll back the money we take into the show, improving it year on year.”

The first of this year’s main ring attractions is Les Amis d’Onno and Karen said: “It is a truly unique, exciting, action packed display that you are unlikely to have ever seen before and will give you a completely new take on horse riding and can-can dancing.”

The magnificent Friesian and Andalusian horses are the stars of the family troupe and will be available throughout the day for the public to get a close look at them and ask questions of the trainers.

Second up will be Savage Skills, recent finalists on ITV’s Lets Get Gold.

As well as breath-taking stunts, they will offer safe cycling tips to youngsters.

Also during the day there will be displays and performances from local dance troupes, the Air Training Corps, a martial arts group and a silver band.

Other attractions will include laser combat, archery, an animal corner, puppet shows, donkey rides, bouncy slides, a climbing wall, play beach and stalls.
