Southowram

PEOPLE aged over 50 can get involved in a series of community activities. The Southowram Over Fifties’ Activities (Sofa) runs flower arranging on Mondays from 3pm- 4.30pm at the community centre, Law Lane, Southowram. On Tuesdays from 2-3pm at St Anne in the Grove Church community rooms New Age Kurling takes place for all levels of physical mobility. Singing for Fun will give people the opportunity of sharing the joy of singing together. Everyone can try two weeks for free and, after that, the cost is £3 an activity.

Sowood

Lightcliffe

Tomorrow, January 23, the Lightcliffe and District Local History Society will host a talk by David Glover about the history of the Sutherland family, from the Appin murder to Lightcliffe and beyond. It starts at 7.30pm at Lightcliffe Junior School, Wakefield Road. Admission is £2.
