STEPPING out on to the turf at Wembley is a special moment for any soccer player.

And every parent who sees their son or daughter play on the hallowed turf of the country’s most iconic soccer stadium, is bound to feel 10 feet high with pride.

So picture then the moment for one of Huddersfield Town’s most popular former players when he saw his nine-year-old son, Harrison turn out at Wembley where he himself once scored a crucial goal.

No-one will have been more delighted than Andy Booth, now an ambassador for Town, to see his son’s school in winning form at Wembley.

And how sweet must have been the moment when Harrison scored the winning goal as young soccer players from Honley CE Junior School won the npower Football League Kids Cup Final.

Andy himself scored at Wembley 18 years ago, grabbing the first goal as Town beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 to win the old Division II play-offs.

For Harrison and his team-mates, Joshua Leake, Lucas Williams, Nathan Sheard, Owen Kenworthy, Noah Thackeray, Vaughan Hirst and Charlie Jakeman, yesterday was a day to remember.

And you suspect that it will have been especially so for Andy Booth. A father and son double at Wembley – one to cherish that is.

But congratulations too to all the boys and their families for doing Honley (and Huddersfield) proud at Wembley.
