IT IS a simple gesture but one that will mean a good deal to homeless people.

Few of us can imagine what it must be like not to have a roof over our heads, not to have access to a warm, dry space, or even to be able to have a hot drink when we need one.

The Suspended Coffee Campaign aims to address the latter. The campaign offers an easy way to provide something that many of us take for granted. The comfort of a cup of tea or coffee.

Buy a drink for yourself at Richard Hanson’s Cafe in Marsh and donate an extra one for a homeless person. How hard is that and yet how much will it mean to someone else?

More perhaps than you might imagine.

Many of us feel that more should and could be done to help people on the margins of our community.

This small step is something all of us can surely respond to and hopefully it will encourage more of us to take a closer look at the plight of homeless people.
