IT IS one of those win, win situations.

Staff from one of Huddersfield’s biggest employers rolled up their sleeves to help one of the area’s charities. It is an example of community involvement of the best kind with benefits on all sides.

Even though the staff from Folly Hall-based insurance company Liverpool Victoria had chosen one of the hottest days of the year to get to grips with improving the gardens at the Hollybank Trust, Mirfield, they took it all in their stride.

It is, after all, not the first time that the company has offered a helping hand to the charity which supports young people with complex disabilities.

Both sides clearly see much to share in their partnership.

The charity is delighted to have had so many helping hands improving the outdoor facilities at Hollybank and with that the quality of life for those they care for.

The company on the other hand understands the value of large companies in the town sharing their skills, their enthusiasm and energies with others.

Together, this business and charity has reminded us all of what benefits there are to looking around, considering where we can be of use and then getting on with the job. It is good to celebrate what they and others continue to do to benefit our community.
