SO the noisebusters are to board Huddersfield’s buses in a bid to help safeguard the nation’s hearing.
Environmental Health officers and medical staff from the Health Protection Agency are to talk to travellers about how loudly they are listening to music on personal music players such as MP3s.
Sometimes the devices are so turned up they are even annoying other passengers.
It’s unclear what long-term damage youngsters may be causing themselves by listening to music at such high volumes.
And it can be annoying on buses having to listen to a non-stop cacophony of irritating ringtones, MP3 players and boring, often pointless, mobile phone conversations.
But it just makes you wonder what kind of response these officials are going to get.
Perhaps it’ll be so vociferous they’d be better off wearing the headphones.
