It's a perfect example of business working in partnership with the local community.

The excited faces of youngsters from Christ Church C E Academy at Deighton pictured on page three, show that as far as they are concerned, Cummins Turbo Technologies is right on track with its latest project at the school.

More than 50 workers from the Turnbridge firm have put in hundreds of hours to build an Environmental Science Area at the school.

The fact that it includes a BMX track has delighted children. It’s a great way for them to get out in the fresh air, get plenty of exercise and at the same time, learn more about their environment.

It’s a great combination and one that Cummins clearly subscribes to. This is, after all, a partnership with the school which has been a two-year commitment for the company as it seeks to help provide a cleaner, healthier and safer environment in which children can develop.

Working so closely with the community will have had undoubted benefits for the company too. The rewards of investing skills to help another generation are huge.

Doubtless Cummins staff will have big smiles on their faces too as they see youngsters at Deighton enjoying facilities which will surely enrich their lives.
