THE vicar of Huddersfield, the Rev Canon Catherine Ogle, has been promoted and is off to Birmingham.

It is a great move for Catherine as she will lead the team of clergy and staff at Birmingham Cathedral – but it is a sad loss to Huddersfield.

She will also be playing a leading role in the life of the Midlands city – and she has certainly has done that here too.

So many people will know Catherine – if only by sight as she has been a massive supporter of community events in Huddersfield.

Her caring, kind and warm-hearted nature are a great comfort to her parishioners, especially in their hours of greatest need. This town will miss her.
