STUDENTS are using their art skills to brighten up some of the town’s empty shops.

And what a difference it is already making to some of the vacant premises in Huddersfield.

Photography students from Kirklees College have been out and about capturing images unique to the town.

Those images are now filling windows in empty shops in John William Street and Northumberland Street as part of a project called The Sprit of Huddersfield.

Let’s hope that this imaginative project kick starts a real revival in how we and others see our town and makes us all more positive about selling its plus points to others.

Small steps are needed to revive perceptions of the town. This project could be one of them.
