I RECENTLY visited Elland via Weatherhill Road and Lindley Moor Road and what a lovely sight it was to see sheep grazing in the fields on Lindley Moor, not I hope for the last time.
I have lived in Lindley for over 30 years and have seen the village grow almost to a town with hundreds new houses already built, and some still vacant.
The schools are full, the doctors are full, the parking is practically impossible unless you are there very early in the morning or late in the evening.
Acre Street/Lidgett Street are always congested with parked cars and delivery vehicles.
The roads are not built to cope with what could be hundreds more vehicles if houses are built.
Surely other sites can be found without building on what is remaining green belt.
I am sending a copy of this letter to Kirklees Council in the hope that the plans are not passed for building what will destroy our lovely village.
