Charities are celebrating a cash boost thanks to an annual fundraiser.
A total of 27 local good causes benefited from Yorkshire Building Society’s Make a Difference Week campaign.
Members of the public were asked to nominate their favourite charities for some support.
The New Street branch in Huddersfield town centre alone donated £100 to five different charities – Huddersfield and Halifax RSPCA, the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Castle Hill School, Kirkwood Hospice and Kirkheaton Lunch Club.
Branch manager Rosalind Emson said: “We were so pleased to see the support members of the public have for charity and that we could make these donations.
“Make a Difference Week is a great opportunity for us to help good causes that can often be overlooked and hear about the charities that are important in our community.”
The Society’s other local branches in Lindley, Meltham, Honley, Holmfirth, Waterloo and Slaithwaite also helped charities so that 27 were given a £100 cash injection.
The fundraising campaign raised a total of £127,000, helping thousands of good causes across the country.
It is largely funded through the Society’s Small Change, Big Difference scheme.
This enables members to donate the pennies from their annual interest on their accounts to the Society’s Charitable Foundation.
