SINGER songwriter Roger Davies is more than a performer, he’s a big part of the arts scene in Brighouse and further afield.

Best things to happen in 2012: “The Olympic Torch Relay and all the celebrations that were associated with it in Huddersfield, Brighouse and beyond.

“The Brighouse Arts Festival – the first of its kind and it’ll be repeated in 2013.

“The Holmfirth Festival of Folk. I was lucky enough to perform in concert with pupils from a couple of Holme Valley junior schools and Holmfirth High School at a special concert for the festival in the parish church. It was great fun.

“I sold out Square Chapel in Halifax and I’ll be back there on March 16, 2013. I also enjoyed a great concert at the LBT in Huddersfield in October this year.

“I’ve enjoyed 2012 very much, it’s been a great year for me, topped off by performing in the BBC Radio Leeds Christmas Concert, singing my song Christmas On King Street accompanied by the Kippax Brass Band.”

Looking forward to 2013 because: “Next year I look forward to releasing a couple of singles and perhaps a new album towards the end of 2013.”
