MIRFIELD: Nov 14: A man was caught on CCTV brandishing a hammer and an axe at the roadside near the Shell petrol station in Leeds Road, Cooper Bridge, at 10.30am. A suspect was later arrested.

Nov 15: Raiders used a sledgehammer to smash their way into an empty house in Huddersfield Road, Blake Hall. They smashed a hole in the porch window and climbed inside. They then put a downstairs light on but found there was nothing to steal.

Nov 16: Burglars snapped a Europrofile lock on a upvc door at a house in Orlando Close, London Park Estate, stole items and fled.

LIVERSEDGE: Nov 23: Four burglars wearing balaclavas and head torches attacked industrial premises in Ashton Clough Road at midnight. They were captured on CCTV trying to remove slates from an outbuilding roof but were unable to get inside. They stole a hosepipe from the yard instead.

THORNHILL: Nov 13: A man returned to his bungalow in Valley Road after shopping to find his lock had been glued up and he was unable to get back in.

Nov 16: Thieves stole power tools from a locked vehicle in Frank Lane. They used a thin-bladed instrument to slide inside a rear door and cut central locking wires.
