ANYONE in any doubt about the dangers of drugs and the misery they wreak only needs to read the tragic story about Helen Gill.

Helen took her own life after being unable to cope with her terrible drug addiction.

It has long been shown that drugs destroy lives, rip families apart and can blight entire communities.

Helen had been gripped by the problem all her adult life which would have meant years battling to try to beat her addiction.

We hear a lot about drug enforcement but not so much about treatment for people with serious drug problems.

Let’s hope that isn’t another victim of the current cuts, taking away the support and, ultimately, hope for people trying to change their lives for the better.
