AMATEUR athletes raced for gold at the Scissett Triathlon.
More than 180 people competed in the event, part of the Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) Games.
A sudden change in the weather meant the competitors were greeted with a lovely warm day and spirits were high as everyone set out for glory.
All competitors swam 400m in the pool at Scissett Baths, cycled 16k and ran 4.5km.
The competition was tough but Elliot Smales crossed the finish line first in an outstanding time of 48:02.60.
The fastest female was Emma Wolff from Wakefield Triathlon Club completing the triathlon in 54:36.75. There were some fantastic results and both the male and female course records were broken.
