I TOO live on Norwood Road, Birkby (Mailbag Feb 5), and am experiencing similar problems. I have changed from dial up to broadband recently and should have a speed of 2mb. In November I couldn’t even get online, so I phoned my provider, who told me BT were in the process of working on my line. One week later and I’m still having problems.
Then two days after this, hooray I got online, only to see I now have a speed of 1.1mb. Again I phoned my service provider only to be told it must be due to the work BT had carried out on my line.
I am still waiting for someone to explain why I cannot get 2mb. My service provider doesn’t know and nor do BT. So your letter writer is not on his own. But if he manages to find the answer please pass it on.
