PEOPLE like Patrice Dlamini are the reason why Robert Mugabe’s reign as president of Zimbabwe has to end.

Patrice was forced to flee his homeland as a political refugee in 2004 simply because Mugabe doesn’t like opposition and makes life unbearable for those who stand up to him.

Uprooted from his home, Patrice was offered a welcome in Huddersfield, where he works advising others in a similar situation.

Election results in Zimbabwe are still unclear, but what is certain is that there will be a temptation to settle old scores if Mugabe’s 28-year rule is over.

The country could descend into chaos. It has happened so often in Africa.

The United Nations will have to watch closely – and act swiftly, if need be.
