A NETHERTON man has appeared in court accused of threatening to kill his ex girlfriend.
Huddersfield magistrates were told that a major police inquiry was launched after Davie Ferguson, of Juniper Grove, was seen outside the home of Donna Steele with a gun.
Ferguson faces charges of being in possession of an imitation firearm and making threats to kill.
He denies the charges and faces trial at crown court.
Vanessa Schofield, prosecuting, said that 24-year-old Ferguson had been in a relationship with Donna Steele, which ended in November.
But on January 10 this year, Miss Steele was at home with her 10-year-old daughter.
Ms Schofield said: “She heard a knock at the front door and looked out through her daughter’s bedroom.
“She saw Mr Ferguson and in his right hand was a silver-coloured gun. It had a long barrel.
“He was pointing it at the window where she stood. She quickly moved away from it.”
Ms Schofield said that Miss Steele asked her daughter to text the daughter of a friend who then called police.
While she was waiting for police to arrive she looked out of the window again.
It is then that Ferguson is alleged to have shouted to her: “I’m going to kill you.”
The West Yorkshire Police helicopter was scrambled to assist officers and Ferguson, a support care worker, was arrested.
Magistrates refused his application for bail.
His first appearance before Bradford Crown Court will be on January 19.
