A LOCAL animal charity is about to be given a cash boost to help its volunteers undertake their work over the next 12 months.
Local pet boarding centre Mypetshop has agreed to back Marsden-based West Yorkshire Dog Rescue.
Sheli Dobbie, of Mypetshop, said: “West Yorkshire Dog Rescue is a worthy cause.
“We are all really excited about the partnership.”
The new partnership is hoping to raise a minimum of £2,000 for the charity, whose purpose is to take care of unwanted and abandoned dogs and house them in foster homes with a family until a new home can be found for them.
Kathy Trout, fundraiser for West Yorkshire Dog Rescue, said: “The current economic impact has meant that many dogs are being disowned by their cash-strapped owners.
“I am very pleased Mypetshop has decided to be partnered with us in 2012. and I have no doubt that this will make a difference.”
