Plans to create three flats in Fartown have been submitted.

The site off York Avenue at the junction of Cowcliffe Hill Road has previously been granted permission for a four-bedroom house.

But now plans have been submitted to instead create three one bedroom flats on the vacant site.

Two of the flats would be ground floor with a third created in the attic space. All the flats will have their own parking space and own entrance to the flat.

The application supporting the development reads: “The proposals represent sustainable development and there is therefore a presumption in favour of approval. A change to three apartments results in different traffic generation and an additional parking space. Neither of these causes any material change in circumstances.

“It is therefore our conclusion that the proposals comply with planning policy and should be granted planning permission.”
