IMMEDIATE Past President Robert Bird congratulated Robert Haigh on taking over as president of Holmfirth Rotary Club for 2011/12.
The thriving Club, now in its 76th year, is well known for its annual bonfire at Sands Recreation Ground in Holmfirth.
Last yearŠ good weather encouraged an exceptionalŠ attendance, with more than £6,000 beingŠ raised for ŠForget Me Not Trust, ShelterBox and local charities.
Events this year include a Car Boot Sale on Sunday August 14 at the Auction Ground, Hade Edge, the bonfire on Saturday November 5 and the regular New Year Raffle.
