Mrs Barbara Rochester led worship at Brockholes Methodist Church. The readers were Mrs Margaret Miller and Mrs Jan Gaunt. The organist was Mr Michael Brown.

Parish communion at Brockholes St George's Church was celebrated by Dean Henry Stapleton. The lesson was read by Kate Drake and the server was Elizabeth Mosley. The organist was Verena Wood.

A social evening and meat and potato pie supper was held at the home of Sue and John Clay to raise £200 for St George’s Church funds.


Pots by Bob was the topic for a meeting of Holmbridge Women's Institute. The Camera Club held a Photoshop skills training evening led by Phil Hack and Victor Harris.

Midweek communion at St David's Church Holmbridge was led by the Rev Geoff Bamford when lessons were read by Ian Gold. Meetings of the Monkey Business, Over 60s Club and Tumble Tots groups were held during the week. On Thursday evening, the house group met at the home of John and Becky Burdon. Ian Gold led Friday evening prayers.

More than 200 people attended St David's Church autumn fair in the parish hall, The event raised more than £1,300.

Early morning communion at St David's was conducted by the Rev Keith Griffin, who also led parish Eucharist. Lessons were read by Helen Wood and Ian Macdonald, who also administered the chalice. The crèche and junior church were led by John Burdon and Glynis Askew. The organist was Lynne Blackburn.


Holy Trinity celebrated Luke the Evangelist with 10.30 am Parish Eucharist. The celebrant was the Rev Roger Nelson. Rees Whitford read from 2 Timothy ch.4 v.5-14, Neil Sykes led the Intercessions and Linda Whitaker assisted with the chalice. The choir sang Deep Peace during the communion. Roger spoke about Luke the physician and how forgiveness is a form of healing. Refreshments were served after the service by Alison Kitch and Ann Holmes.


Family communion at St Mary's Church Honley was conducted by Dean Henry Stapleton. The lesson was read by Margaret Wainwright and John Ambler led intercessions. Vernon Briggs was the organist.


The weekly prayer breakfast was held at the home of Sue and Graham Dawson. MIdweek communion at St John's Church Upperthong was conducted by Dean Henry Stapleton. Lunch followed in the meeting room.

Friday evening harvest supper was held in the village hall and was followed by entertainment. Proceeds of the event went to church funds.

Family communion at St John's Church was led by the Rev Di Ellerton, who read the gospel. preached the sermon, led prayers and was the celebrant. The readers were Hilary Broadbent and Rachel Haslam. Philip Broadbent assisted with the chalice and Ian Greenhalgh was the organist. Coffee and biscuits were served afterwards.


Morning worship at Wooldale Methodist Church was led by Granville Dews. The organist was Sue Ogden.

The monthly social at the Methodist church was a talk by Trevor Jones on his trip to Uganda. The vote of thanks was given by Dilys Williams.
