IRAN is now being subjected to the same kind of demonisation that resulted in the invasion of Iraq.

Iran has a real need to be able to generate its own nuclear power and this was recognised way back by Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz, negotiating on behalf of President Gerald Ford.

Iran cannot produce anywhere near enough electricity to meet the needs of its growing population.

It might well be true that Iran wants to be able to make nuclear weapons and it would not be surprising given the experience of Iraq who did not possess nuclear weapons!

But the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA) have found no evidence of a nuclear weapons programme in Iran.

An attack on Iran would be a monumental catastrophe and could have repercussions throughout the Middle East and beyond.

Please support the National Day of Action against sanctions and military intervention in Iran.

Huddersfield Stop the War Coalition will be giving out information tomorrow at the Market Cross in Huddersfield at noon and asking people to sign a pledge against an attack on Iran.
