Youngsters sprang into action to celebrate Northfield Hall first birthday.

Dance group Diva Fever and Northfield Hall’s very own cheerleading squad performed last week at the two-day event attended by more than a thousand residents.

The event kicked-off on Wednesday with arts and crafts, face painting and entertainment.

On Thursday the fun continued and linked in with Deighton Carnival arts week and roadshow.

Carnival spokesman Howard Belafonte said: “We had well over 1,000 people passed through the event over the two days and was well supported by the local Deighton, Brackenhall, Bradley , Birkby and Fartown Community.

“We had free food, free face painting, nail art, kids activities, free cinema plus performances by, Northfield Hall Cheerleaders Squad, Diva Fever Street Dance, Huddersfield Crusaders Majorettes plus DJ Hughlin spinning the discs.

“Really brilliant two days with some excellent feedback.”

This year’s carnival is on Saturday June 29 at Deighton Sports fields.
