OK, so schools and clubs use the pool and that use is not noted on the timetable (“Pool in use for 16 hours a day say officials” Examiner February 16). Thanks Kirklees for sharing that.

The fact still remains though that I and many others are unable to swim at the Stadium Leisure Complex Monday to Friday after work, due to the fact that the allocated slot for public swims are within the normal working hours of the week. There is no scheduled swim for workers Monday to Friday, unless of course I leave the children to get themselves to school and go at 7am.

Also, the family swim, (presumably aimed at younger children) session times are too late at 6pm or 7pm. Surely, if the pool is allocated to clubs the swimmers are a little older and therefore it would be more appropriate to allow the younger swimmers in early and the older club swimmers later on?

My feeling is that clubs and schools have unlimited priority and the public (me) will just have to work around them.

I think the timetable needs reviewing to enable all Kirklees residents the opportunity to be able to use the pool at realistic times.

It’s a superb facility; let us all enjoy being able to use it at appropriate times!

Hopeful swimmer
