Last week came with a mixed bag of weather and started with a frost on Monday morning with temperatures overnight Sunday falling down to -1.1°C, 32°F, so many a car windscreen was scraped to start the working week.

But with a warm front moving up from the south east through Monday it became cloudy and we started quite a long spell of damp and foggy weather. Unusually the fog did not lift much through the day with visibility less than 50 metres in places making driving difficult around Huddersfield. The low cloud led to some pretty cold days at 7°C, 45°F. The fog finally cleared away through Thursday night to leave the end of the week as we started with sunshine and blue skies but a little warmer. This week’s maximum temperature was 9.9°C, 48°F on Saturday. Rainfall was just 2.5mm, mainly from drizzle.
