WOLVES Matt Jarvis described his first day of training with England as ‘like having your first day of school again’.
In a perfect world this revelation should have gone on to be followed by Jarvis (pictured) revealing: “It was great!
“They let me play in the sandpit and then at lunchtime my Mum came to get me.
“I did cry a bit at first and I did try to run out of the playground once but, apart from the little accident (I felt too scared to ask if I could go), it was okay.”
Sadly what he actually said was: “It was a fantastic feeling and they made me feel welcome.”
A little less interesting perhaps, but it does open up the question that if you are selected to play for a national team why would they not make you feel welcome?
