A Huddersfield business has raised a staggering £6,000 for the Huddersfield Town Foundation which is supporting breakfast clubs for schoolchildren.

Pallet distribution company, The Pink Link Ltd, was able to donate the funds, which were raised at its Pink October Ball last year.

The money will be used by the foundation, which serves up breakfasts to hundreds of schoolchildren across Yorkshire every week.

Mandy Taylor, Corporate Fundraising Officer at The Huddersfield Town Foundation, said: “On behalf of our founder, Dean Hoyle, the Board of Trustees and most importantly, the thousands of children and their families that we serve, I wish to express our sincere thanks to the Pink Link team for this most significant and valued donation.

“We look forward to working with the Pink Link and sharing our experiences and showcasing our community spirit with them.”

Beverley Shelton and Vicki Davenport of The Pink Link Ltd presented Mandy Taylor with the £6,000 cheque at the Foundation’s annual Ladies’ Lunch event.

Vicki Davenport added: “The Pink Link are honoured and delighted to have donated to The Town Foundation and are looking forward to getting involved in a breakfast club visit and seeing the impact the Foundation has had on the children.

“I am sure Pinky Lynx, our company mascot, will be popular with the children!

“In the past most of our fundraising has been involved with cancer charities, but we wanted to get involved with the local community and having seen the wonderful work and results the Town Foundation has achieved it was an easy decision.”
