THE healing power of plants is to be unveiled in Marsden.

A Hedgerows for Herbalism walk will take place in the village on Saturday, May 29.

Led by medical herbalist Sue Salmon, it will be easy paced and will be mostly fairly level. It includes a stroll by the river and some splendid views of the valley.

“This walk is a chance to find out about the folklore and medicinal properties of the plants that grow wild all around us,” said Sue.

“We’ll explore the uses of well known ‘weeds’ such as dandelion and nettle, as well as lesser known wayside plants.”

The walk, which is free to join in, starts from Marsden train station at 11am and is expected to finish at 1.30pm.
