POLICE confirmed that a body found at Holmbridge was that of missing man Neil Bryson.

Mr Bryson (pictured), of Scholes, had vanished from his home on November 27.

Police and firefighters were called to Brownhill reservoir at Holmbridge on Saturday to recover a man found in the icy waters.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said yesterday: “We have spoken to Mr Bryson’s family and confirmed he is the man found at the reservoir. An inquest is expected to open later this week”.

Mr Bryson’s car had been found parked near Yateholme reservoir, which is a little over a mile from Brownhill.

A huge police search had been mounted by West Yorkshire’s missing persons unit but they had found no trace of the father-of-two.

Police confirmed that they are still hunting two other missing Huddersfield men.

Alan Holt, 40, of Dalton, has been missing since September but there have been reported sightings in the Mirfield area since then.

Pensioner Bernard Hallas, 84, of Bradley, vanished on December 18 after getting off a bus in Huddersfield town centre.

He was seen on CCTV cameras walking down High Street and Ramsden Street towards Wakefield Road at Aspley.
